
Jai- alai is the highlight of every festival. No festival is complete without Jai- alai and the same goes for DHRUV. Tribes from all over come together and an element of celebration is added to the competition as everybody wants to join in either to play or to cheer on their tribes. The celebrations reach new heights as the atmosphere is charged with the war cries of all the tribes.
Rules:
1)Only the first 16 teams to register shall have the opportunity
to compete.
2)Each team shall have 15 members (11+4) and only 1 team per
college.
3)Knockout matches of 8 overs, semifinals of 10 overs & final of
12 overs with all regular rules.
Note: Please bring your own bats.
Playing ball engages one in the ritual regeneration of life. The team effort engages individuals in shared behaviour and culture, introducing, reinforcing and reinventing the game of life and peoples’ place in the cosmic order
Rules:
1) First 8 teams will be selected; 6 a side match.
2) 15 minutes half, 10 minutes break.
3) General rules of game apply.
4) No off side.
Note: Team is requested to wear similar jersey or T- shirt of same colour.
Ulama symbolizes a struggle between day and night deities. The object is to keep the sun (ball) in the sky and not let it fall on either territory and cause destruction. Experience the power of the all-powerful deities and control the movement of the sun.
Rules:
1) Team of 9 (6+3) members per college.
2) Mixed (Girls & Boys) team is allowed..
3) Each game will be best of 3 sets & will have 25 points.
The objective of Isanka Rum’pu is to shoot the ball through the hanging hoops. The tribes have to fight it out for the survival as the team which looses is sacrificed at the end of the game.
Rules:
1) Team of 5+5 (extras) participants per college.
2) Each half is of 10 mins & only 3 time outs per game are allowed.
Pok-a -Tok is a ballgame played on a rock table. A skilled player can impart several varieties of spin to the ball, altering its trajectory and limiting an opponent’s options to great advantage.
Rules:
1) One team per college for men’s single & women’s single.
2) Depending upon the time & number of participants, matches upto quarter final will be played for one set of 21 points, subjected to change on the spot.
3) Semifinals and finals will be played for best of three set of 21 points, subjected to change on the spot.
It is a war fought with bare hands and without any weapons. The sheer strength of the tribes is tested in this war. This puts to test the unity and the team spirit of the tribals.
Rules:
1) Two teams consisting of 8+4 (extras) per college, one all boys & one all girls team.
2) Basic rules for the game will be told on the spot.
The basic idea is for the server of one tribe, to hurl the ball so that it lands into a fair territory. The opponent then must return the ball in one motion to the opposite territory. When a player fails to return a service, points are scored.
Rules:
1) Two participants for men’s single & two participants for women’s single, per college.
2) Depending upon the time & number of participants, matches up to quarter final will be played for one set of 21 or 15 points.
3) Semifinals & finals will be played for best of three, set of 21 or 15 points.
Komikan is a hunt game where there are two equal forces at play. He who excels in strategy is able to hunt down the opposition’s pieces and be the ultimate winner of the hunt.
Rules:
1) One participant from each college shall be allowed.
2) Entries will be on first come first basis.
3) Chess board and pieces will be provided be organisers.
A) Umpire’s/referee’s decision will be final and binding. Any player seen arguing with the umpire/referee will be banned & the team is liable for disqualification.
B) All teams should submit the final team including extras & report with their I-cards 30 minutes before the match.
C) Rules & timings are liable to be changed by the organizers as they deem fit, without prior notices.
D) All dates, venue, lots once decided by the organizers will not be changed for the convenience of any team.
E) The tournaments are on a knockout basis.
F) All the regular rules of the respective games apply.
