University of Pune MBA (Biotechnology) Admission Information Year 2014-15
The Department of Management Sciences, University of Pune has pioneered a two year full time
MBA (Biotechnology) degree program since 2002.

Who can apply?

A candidate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or who has appeared for the final year examination (Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Marine Biology, Microbiology, Zoology), Agriculture, Ayurved, Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy, Technology, Veterinary Sciences from a statutory university.

Which is the Qualifying Exam?
The aspirant has to take the ATMA exam conducted by ATMA-AIMS. See details on the
website.

ATMA scores obtained after appearing for ATMA exam on
December 8, 2013 or February 16, 2014 or May 25, 2014 will be considered for admission. However the department may include, through a notification to that effect, at an appropriate stage, any other examination conducted by ATMA or any other such examination deemed appropriate by the department.
How is the Selection Done?
Step 1
: Candidates seeking admission to this program for the academic year 2014 should have appeared for the ATMA exams on above mentioned dates. ATMA score obtained after appearing for ATMA exam on any one of the above dates will be considered for admission.
Step 2: -

Candidates should register themselves for the GD/PI test (Group Discussion and Personal Interview) conducted by the Dept. of Management Sciences, (PUMBA), University of Pune. Check the website for details
(www.pumba.in)
The admission will be made strictly on the basis of overall merit i.e. Combined Score = ATMA Test Score + GD Score + PI Score If the candidate fails to appear for GD or for PI, he/she will not be eligible for the admission.

In case of any grievance, the decision taken by the Head of the Department shall be final

How to register for GD/PI at PUMBA?

The registration process for GD/PI has to be done online; website www.pumba.in. The prospectus and application form can be obtained after online registration.

The link will be activated in February 2014.

1. Register on the website; create a user name and password.

2. Fill up details in the form

3. Print the form

4. Submit the completed form and fees of Rs. 900/-(for open category) by Demand Draft

          From February 1, 2014 on all working days between 11.00am to 5.00pm. Please Note: Candidates belonging to the reserved category of State of Maharashtra only, should make a payment of Rs. 700/-by Demand draft.

5. The DD should be drawn in favor of ‘The Registrar University of Pune’, payable at  Pune from any nationalized Bank. You can submit the form and demand draft in the department office in person OR mail the application form and demand draft by post or courier to the following address.

What is the last date for online registration?

What is the last date for accepting the completed form?

The completed forms and DD will be accepted at PUMBA office till 5PM on May 24, 2014.

What documents should I submit along with the form?

You need to submit a) Attested Xerox copies of ATMA score b) Caste certificate, Caste validity certificate, and “Non-Creamy layer” certificate (if you belong to the Reserved Category of State of Maharashtra)
Please read the form carefully and fill all the information. Please also give correct phone numbers (land line + mobile) and email addresses so that you can be contacted on the same if required.

What is the fee structure?
The candidates will have to secure their admission by paying full fees during counseling. The demand draft of any Nationalized Bank, should be drawn in the favor of
‘The Registrar’, University of Pune, payable at Pune Fees for Open category Candidates Rs 65,000/-per year**

Fees for Other Backward Class category (OBC) Candidates Rs 32,500/-per year**

However, upon obtaining admission, the candidates of all reserved category (belonging to the State of Maharashtra) shall fulfill the necessary formalities for scholarship provided by the state government, which is subject to the guidelines and rules of State Government of Maharashtra.

**The fee structure at PUMBA is under revision. The applicants will be informed at the time of GD/PI about the revised fees.
When is the GD/PI scheduled?
The GD/PI is scheduled from June 4, 2014 onwards. The batch-wise details (Date, Time & Batch Number of GD/PI Test) will be available on department’s website (www.pumba.in) and notice board from May 27, 2014.
What certificates & other documents are required for GD/PI?

The candidates will have to produce the following original certificates and documents before presenting himself / herself for the GD and PI Test.
a. Photo Identity Card.
b. Original ATMA score card.
c. Statement of marks and passing certificates for SSC (Tenth Standard)
d. Statement of marks and passing certificates for HSC (Twelfth Standard)
e. Statement of marks for Bachelor’s / Master’s degree Examination.
f. Bachelors / Master’s Degree Certificates
g. Domicile and Nationality Certificate
h. Caste Certificate (only for candidates belonging to reserved category of State of Maharashtra)
i. Caste Validity Certificate (only for candidates belonging to reserved category of State of Maharashtra)
j. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (if applicable).

Note
: The candidate has to bring the original Caste Certificate
, Caste Validity Certificate and Non-Creamy Layer Certificate at the time of GD/PI. If the candidate cannot validate his or her caste at the time of GD/PI, then he/she will be listed in the general merit list. * Photo Identity Card: includes College ID card, Passport, Driving License, PAN card, Aadhar card and Voters card.

When will the Merit list be displayed?

Merit list will be displayed on the website (www.pumba.in) and on the department Notice board on June 16, 2014 by 5 PM. No communication will be made to the candidates separately.

How many seats are available for admission?

For the preparation of category wise merit lists it is important to present the Original Caste Certificate, Caste Validity certificate and “Non-Creamy layer” certificate at the time of GD/PI. Reservation Table

When is the counseling procedure?
