PUMBA EVENTS

PUMBA has always endeavored to ignite this drive in students and give it direction through various extra-curricular activities and cultural events. These events, not only give the students a platform to exhibit their talents but also an opportunity to comprehend what drives success stories.

Nostalgia is an annual campus reunion held at PUMBA. It gives an opportunity to the PUMBA alumni to meet their peers and relive the moments spent at their institute. The event facilitates student-alumni interaction, thereby enlightening the students with the varied experiences and knowledge of the alumni.

The Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), University of Pune is a premier management institute which pioneered management education in Pune. It is committed towards providing quality management education. The Department organizes National level seminars and workshops every year.

Events Organized by Cultural Cell

A novel way to induct the juniors into PUMBA, SHRAMDAAN is generally conducted in early August. All the students assemble in PUMBA on a Sunday and are randomly divided into groups. They then get busy in giving the PUMBA building a complete make-over! All the classrooms, cells, library, computer lab, notice boards, office as well as the lawns alongside are put in order. Refreshments are arranged for all, by the Cultural Cell. The day ends with some games like tug-of-war or cricket. 

SHRAMDAAN is an opportunity for the juniors to make new friends, have a fun-filled Interaction and get used to the PUMBA environ in a better way.
 

An innovative competition where final year MBA students present the projects which they have undertaken during their summer internships. A synopsis of the project is invited from the interested candidates. A panel of industry experts and senior faculty members shortlist the entries. They also act as judges for the competition. A winner and a runner-up is awarded for each of the 5 specializations -Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Systems and Operations. Year after year, we have been receiving an overwhelming response for this event from B-schools all over the country. Students from more than 50 B-schools including IIM-L, IIT-Delhi, KJ Somayya and Jamnalal Bajaj Institute and Symbiosis (SIMS, SITM) participated in SUMMERS ’06.
 

The 4-day cultural extravaganza at PUMBA! DHRUV is an intercollegiate cultural event comprising of more than 20 different management games, cultural and sports activities. Management games include business plans, events testing decision-making skills, games theory, business awareness, negotiation skills etc. Cultural events include group and solo dances, choreography, singing, dumb charades, debates, treasure hunts etc. Sports include basketball, football, cricket, badminton, tug-of-war, carom and chess. An independent panel of judges who have expertise in their concerned field will be appointed for all the events. DHRUV has been immensely popular among MBA students. A case in point would be the participation of students from about 80 B-schools in and outside Pune in DHRUV ’06.
 

 The official PUMBA farewell for the last year MBA students as they get ready to graduate from campus to corporate. Managed fully by the 1st year MBA students, ADIOS AMIGOS is a fun-filled half-day event. The senior students are addressed by the respected faculty members in PUMBA and then the stage is thrown open for the seniors, to share with the juniors, a few moments and experiences from their journey in PUMBA. The event also includes some games and stage performances by the ever-enthusiastic PUMBA ites. The seniors are also presented with a PUMBA memento as a souvenir.
 

A Saturday in every two months, ED cell will celebrate E-day wherein different events, internal competitions, guest lectures and sessions pertaining to entrepreneurship development will be covered. We aim to organize at least five E-days in next 1 year.
 

YUKTI is our yearly intercollegiate event. 2012 would be the fourth year of the event. It includes two rounds i.e., BIZZOLUTION and BIPLAMANIA involving the assessment of Business plans of the participating students.
